My Buddha Machine arrived Wednesday night and has been droning at me pretty much nonstop since. For the first day I used it, I was irritated that it apparently had been built without an off switch and that I had to unplug it when I didn’t want it on anymore. Then I remembered that back in the day, if you wanted to turn an audio device off, you thumbed the volume dial down a little past zero until you felt the click. It’s been that long.
Anyway, it’s very cool.
Does it really have a little Buddha in the center?
I still doubt it, but I dunno, I haven’t wanted to open it up - the little scews set into the back that hold it together don’t look like they have a lot of traction and I don’t want to open it only to not be able to close it again.
UPDATE: Just for the record, I posted this 16 minutes before Instapudit’s chant pun.
