Because there are no Italians in it

I’m currently reading Pride and Prejudice – which I somehow managed to avoid doing for the past 40 or so years – and am thoroughly enjoying it. Highly recommended to all but TJIC (for, while many offers are made, none are of the sort that cannot be refused).

After 20 years of my recommendations.

Well, let’s be fair – 20 years after your recommendation. It’s not like you were reminding me annually that I should read it.

I did read (somewhat more promptly) a lot of Patrick O’Brian and P.G. Wodehouse on your recommendation. And I think I have a copy (possibly yours?) of The Debacle around somewhere, which I intend to read based on your recommendation (also of about 20 years ago).

I certainly concede that you have yet to steer me wrong!
