While speculation of the film’s tentative pre-production remain uncorroborated industry and internet hearsay, in December of 2006, an article on movies.com [4] added speculation to the potential casting of actor Paul Walker as a replacement for Gibson in the titular role of Max. The article cites praise given to Walker by George Miller, who views Walker “as the real deal” when it comes to action movies, and a possible contender for the role.
I agree Walker’s pretty good, but some combination of his voice and accent reminds me of something that makes it difficult to take him seriously in more dramatic roles.
