Sad anniversary today

On April 18, 2002, Thor Heyerdahl died in Italy.

My copy of The Kon Tiki is pretty dog eared. Reading of his adventures as well as Joshua Slocum’s contributed to my love of the sea and sailing.

Was he a good scientist? Not really- but he was a great adventurer.

    As TJIC likes to point out, once again this year the anniversaries of our deaths have all gone unobserved.
