China denies $2 billion negotiations with Zimbabwe:
Zimbabwe was set to receive a $2-billion loan from China; Zimbabwe’s government owned daily, The Herald, reported last week. However, China’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson has refuted allegations that negotiations to this effect are taking place.

Zimbabwe is reeling under conditions of intense inflation and unemployment. It is also facing expulsion threats from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) over unpaid debts.
Zimbabwe’s president, Robert Mugabe, recently welcomed aid with no strings attached. Zimbabwe is facing western isolation after a controversial land policy that saw white farmers lose their land in the country. [emphasis mine - dff]
This Mugabe guy is obviously a genius, so I’m going to follow his lead:
I, too, welcome aid with no strings attached!
Especially that all-too-common “pay back the aid at some future time” string.
