This sounds like a Bill Cosby stand up comment, circa 1978: “If you boys don’t get to bed right this minute, I’m going to slap the color right out of you!”
Well – they haven’t bombed them back to the Stone Age, but at least back to the 30s when the world was all black and white.
It’s a shame that my thought is that of course they did that on purpose – everything looks worse in the B+W version, even the non-bombed buildings. Thank you NYT (and others) for being such krep journalists you’ve cast a pall on your entire profession. Way to go, guys!
