Obvious, but still interesting

Logoworks made up a list of the top 10 reasons people leave their jobs for their newsletter. Numbers 4-6 seem to be issues at my company:

4. Management doesn’t allow the rank and file to make decisions or allow them pride of ownership.

5. Management constantly reorganizes, shuffles people around, and changes direction constantly.

6. Management doesn’t have or take the time to clarify goals and decisions. Therefore, it rejects work after it was completed, damaging the morale and esteem of those who prepared it.

Some of my management peeves:

11. Management takes a top down approach for planning, starting with a “This is how much you can spend, and here is the deadline” attitude despite the fact they have little or no actual experience in what they want you to do.

12. Management brings in experts at hundreds (or even thousands) of dollars an hour to tell them the exact same things you have been telling them for years for free.

But I guess all 10 (or 12) reasons could be summed up by “Management shows no respect for their employees”.

Two thirds of the way towards a post title that doesn’t end with an ellipsis! Baby steps, man, baby steps. You’ll get there.

    ;-)

That’s what I like about blogging with you- punctuation comments from the peanut gallery.
