Apple iPod owners love their sleek machines. That’s when they work. When they don’t, they enter a twilight world where they discover their prized music player is considered by its manufacturer as nothing more than a throwaway item.
Apparently their life expectancy is only a year.

I have had a Rio (no longer with us) Karma MP3 player for 5 years, and its still going strong and a 5gb motorola one I’ve had for 2 years. The Karma is compatable with open source formats too. The karma had pretty good reviews, but the motorola was panned for not being an ipod. I have a confession- I am the Apple (especially iPod) anti-fanboy.
I’ll just say I’m very impressed with how an iPod looks.
Of course I’ve never owned one, or, for that matter, any of these oh-so-stylish tools for people who, you know, go places.
;-)
I have friends who have them and they are quite nice. They are just so poser and overpriced.
