Heh, heh, heh….

I’m ordering a bunch of these things. When I moved into a new apartment once I spent an hour digging through boxes trying to find an annoying beep (cordless phone). It was maddening!
Beautiful!

Just connect this device to a 9-volt battery and plant it in an appropriate location. The “Mind Molester” produces a one-second electronic chirp about once every 4 minutes. Due to the chirp’s duration, frequency, and sound characteristics, it’s a very, very difficult, time-consuming, frustrating and maddening task to locate the unit.

“Dude, why is your ass beeping?”

    Heh heh.

I was sitting in my office one day, and I noticed a high pitched whine/vibration which I could not localize. It was loud enough to bug me and I eventually turned off my computer and my office mate’s computer, and after a few minutes more of careful listening I discovered that I had put a light bulb in a coffee cup and the vibrations in the building itself had driven a resonance in the bulb-cup arrangement. Removing the bulb stopped the sound, putting it back in resulted in the sound restarting- but only after a period of silence while the bulb worked itself back into the resonant state.
