Seriously, what a transparent attempt to try to show how “serious” they are about supporting the override.

I would describe them as the Ghostbuster wing of the yes supporters:
BS: Without the overide, this town is headed for a disaster of biblical proportions.
Taxpayer: What do you mean, “biblical”?
PS: What he means is Old Testament, Mr. Taxpayer, real wrath-of-God type stuff.
BS: Exactly.
PS: Fire and brimstone coming down from the skies. Rivers and seas boiling.
AH: Forty years of darkness. Earthquakes, volcanoes…
MS: The dead rising from the grave.
BS: Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together - mass hysteria
