so absent a blindfold, which I think would be uncomfortable

Well, you'd already be wearing a headband, so it wouldn't be a big addition. But in my case, what with curtains and the direction my bedroom windows face, well, suffice it to say it's about as cavelike as it could get. So, one's milage may obviously vary. I'm not sure I could sleep with any kind of contraption attached to my forehead...

Yes, I think it was FP. This sounds like a good idea to me, but not earth shatteringly so. I tend to wake up when light comes in the window, so absent a blindfold, which I think would be uncomfortable, I don't know how much good such a headband would be. If one had to get up before dawn this would be preferable to an alarum.

I read somewhere recently that some kids at Brown have developed something you can wear on your head that measures your sleep states and wakes you at a point in your sleep cycle where you won't feel tired when you get up. Futurepundit, maybe?

Yes, alarm clocks are evil. they damage you by forcing you to wake up at physically inappropriate times. To wake up at a certain time: adjust the time you go to sleep. It works.
Quit whining and kill your alarm clock.

Your pineal gland will thank you.

An alarm clock?

What's that?

Oh, wait...I think I used one back in the late 1980's...
