When the nostalgia peddlars start catching you up,
you need to step on the gas and start listening to new
music, man!

Do you listen to The Shins, Cake, Apples in Stereo, Mercury Rev, Flaming Lips (not new, but still out there), Augie March, New Pornographers, The Sea & Cake, Built To Spill, Modest Mouse, Fountains of Wayne, etc.?? Promise Ring, The Microphones... er... others I can't recall right now.

By listening to enough new music you'll keep the old stuff out of consciousness enought that you won't be tempted to watch VH1.
