I grew up in Arlington when we could pay for our schools from the property tax, but that is no longer true.
I take pride in writing the law that abolished Middlesex County, a relic from our colonial era that long ago ceased working for us.

My parents’ generation provided me with an opportunity to get a good education.
If you say so, Jim.

Missing copy? Plenty of links that don’t go anywhere? I guess we’re still in beta. Hey, it’s still pretty early in the election season… Of course, some of these mistakes were committed to print, and found their way to my doorstep. Also on the brochure, but absent from the site:
You have real choices for state representative. One of my opponents gets almost all of his campaign funds from the Governor and, not surprisingly, supports the “Romney agenda.” The other belongs to a party that opposes the existence of public schools, supports an end to government health insurance and health care, and wants our roads turned over to private businesses. I ask for your vote in November so I can continue to fight on your behalf.
Dunn wants to abolish public schools? Doesn’t look like it. Dunn wants to end government health insurance and health care? Doesn’t look like it. Dunn wants to privatize roads? Doesn’t look like it. At least from casual readings.
Still, I hope Marzilli’s slimy pseudo-allegations are true - I’ll be more motivated to get out of the house and vote for Dunn.
UPDATE: Yes, I realize Marzilli technically hasn’t said anything untrue. What I dislike is the attempt to associate someone who could be perfectly reasonable from a more or less mainstream perspective with extremism. It’s sleazy. But, I’ve been up all night working, and I’m tired, and maybe it’s just that Marzilli’s brochure was underwhelming.

Examine Marzilli’s past campaigns. The good-guy mask slips whenever someone has the gall to not let him run unopposed.
